Courvoisier at its upmost finest; the L?Essence is a blend of extremely rare vintages from the last two centuries. The cognacs come from the Grande Champagne and Borderies crus, which date back to early 1900, that adds depth and harmony to the blend. These are complemented with cognacs from the later twentieth century which show the innovations in distillation and barrel-making techniques. The bottles are laboriously hand-sculpted by over 30 craftsmen from Baccarat.
- Nose: Exquisitely refined aromas of sandalwood and cigar leaf, followed by toffee, marzipan and fresh honey.
- Taste: On the palate there?s liquorice, dried plum and apricot; with hints of summer blossom.
- Finish: Full-bodied and very rich on the finish; there?s also a smouldering intensity that seems to go on forever.
