43 degrees Sauvignon Blanc refers to this vineyard’s vines which were planted at an unusual angle of 43 degrees north-east to south-west.
Selected from a single vineyard in Marlborough’s lower Wairau valley, this vineyard’s unusual angle leads to slightly greener characters in grapes on the south facing side, and more tropical characteristics on the north facing side.
The resulting wine is therefore multi-dimensional and complex showing aromas of blackcurrant bud, crushed herb and minerality. The palate is expressive of blackcurrant, juicy white peach and tropical passionfruit notes. A mineral and salty richness leads to a long lingering finish.
A perfect companion for seafood, this wine also complements fresh vegetable dishes.
